Good Shepherd Welcomes Mr Mark Spring

Welcome to our Howard Springs Junior School Mark. We wish you all the very best for your time at Good Shepherd.

"My name is Mark Spring and I am married to Sara who also teaches at Good Shepherd Lutheran College. I have two children, Joshua who is an accomplished photographer in Darwin and Ewan who is studying Science at James Cook University in Cairns.

Previously serving as a London police officer, with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology, my family and I moved to Newcastle, NSW in 2010 where I retrained to become a teacher. Attaining a Master of Teaching degree in 2014, we again upped roots and moved to Darwin where I taught Year 6 at a Darwin International school for seven years.

Living rural, last year I decided to take on a teaching position at Good Shepherd, where I immediately felt at home and in a school where I felt an overwhelming connection to.

I greatly enjoy teaching and living on a rural block - and the plethora of jobs that come with it. We have one horse, one miniature (stubborn) mule and two German Shepherd dogs. If that is not enough, I also enjoy fishing, coaching football and playing chess.

There is much to look forward to this year, especially working alongside like-minded, passionate teachers and leaders who like me, truly care about each other, the students, parents and the broader community."
