Junior Schools Celebrate Inaugural Wellbeing Day

On the last day of term, all three of our Junior Schools held their first annual Wellbeing Day!

Our Leanyer Campus students spent the morning outside enjoying games and water play, followed by some mindfulness activities and a movie afternoon.

The students (and staff!) had a brilliant time sliding on the slip-n-slide, letting off water blasters, vying for first place in the limbo competition and so much more. The favourite activity of the day however appeared to be the ‘water dunk tank’ – there’s nothing more fun that dunking the teachers!

Our Palmerston students enjoyed an action-packed day of back-to-back activities, including face painting and hair spraying, therapy dog cuddles, dance and drama workshops, cooking, gaming, tennis and animal encounters.

It was then time for the inaugural Palmerston Campus fishing competition, where students were invited to test their casting skills on the oval. Huge thanks go to Daryl Melville and Palmerston Game Fishing Club for organising the activity, trophies and shield, and to Precision Marine NT for lending the Campus two boats to transform the oval into an authentic fishing charter!

Our Howard Springs Junior School students rotated through a whole heap of wellbeing-related stations such as dance and karaoke workshops, fire safety and St John Ambulance presentations, mindfulness mandalas, rock painting and R U OK? messages. They even got to participate in a scavenger hunt!

Lunch time called for a sausage sizzle, icy-poles and water play complete with giant beach balls, soapy sponges and sprinkler fun.

Everyone involved across all three of our Junior Schools had an absolute blast. Well done to all College staff, parents and helpers for the huge effort that went in to making the day such a success!
